About This Spot

Stepping into Eight o one at Oliver’s, you immediately sense a thoughtful blend of warmth and refinement, a space that effortlessly balances the familiar comfort of a hometown favorite with the inviting polish of a modern American steak and seafood house. The pace here leans toward relaxed and unhurried, a place where good company and well-crafted food invite you to linger a little longer, whether you’ve just wrapped up a round of golf or are settling in for a meaningful evening.

The atmosphere carries a subtle brightness—airy yet grounded—with a design that welcomes guests without pretense. It’s the kind of spot where conversations flow easily, and the hum of shared stories becomes part of the backbone of your experience. From the attentive service to the well-curated drink offerings—from classic bourbons to thoughtfully mixed cocktails—the vibe encourages savoring each moment as much as each bite.

Menus here feel like an extension of that ambiance: approachable but layered with care. The food resonates with the kind of all-American heartiness that doesn’t overwhelm but satisfies, whether you're drawn to a perfectly juicy burger, a richly layered mac and cheese, or the crisp, flavorful nuances in their take on chicken wings and sandwiches. It’s clear the kitchen values quality and balance, pairing familiar dishes with touches that keep you curious and coming back to explore more.

Brunch offers another dimension, where comfort meets a gentle burst of creativity—think crispy, flaky chicken and waffles or satisfying skillet dishes, each plate feeling like a small celebration of flavors that hit just the right notes. Meanwhile, the thoughtful attention to side dishes and homemade dressings adds an extra layer of care that makes the meal feel personal.

Eight o one at Oliver’s invites you to experience Lynchburg dining with a sense of ease and genuine welcome. Whether it’s the buzz of the bar or the quiet nooks toward the back, this is a place built on moments—the satisfying clink of glasses, the warmth of shared laughter, and the kind of food that lingers in memory not because it shouts, but because it comforts.

We’ve been here several times usually between 1 and 3 pm, after playing some golf. We love the food here. Burgers are very tasty and this time we tried the Fish and Chips and it was excellent. The fries also are great. Homemade, not the skinny batter kind, these are nice and fat slices from real potatoes. Our server told us that the Brussels sprouts side is very good also and so my hubby had to try it. It was over the top delicious. I’m not a fan of Brussel sprouts but this was amazing, light and crispy with some kind of beautiful seasoning sauce on it. He laughed because I ate more of that than my Fish and Chips. They have all kinds of draft beer and your regular wines, bar appears to have plenty of hard liquor also. The atmosphere is very charming inside and we usually like to eat in the bar side room so we can watch golf or football on one of their many TV’s. Love that this is a locally owned restaurant and you can do some light shopping right next door. Check Oliver’s out. Say hello to Cam the manager and order the Fish and Chips and a side of Brussel sprouts it’s the bomb!

Oliver’s Restaurant is easily one of the best dining experiences in Lynchburg. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that strikes the perfect balance between upscale and comfortable. The space is beautifully designed, clean, and creates the kind of ambiance that makes any meal feel special, whether it’s a casual night out or a celebratory dinner. The menu is fantastic creative without being overwhelming, and everything is prepared with precision and care. Each dish I’ve had here has been packed with flavor, thoughtfully presented, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. From appetizers to entrees to desserts, Oliver’s consistently delivers food that you can’t wait to come back for. What really elevates the experience, though, is the service. The staff are professional, attentive, and genuinely kind. They take the time to make sure you’re comfortable and that every detail of your dining experience is excellent. It’s clear the team here takes pride in what they do, and that professionalism is something that sets Oliver’s apart from other restaurants in the area. Another thing worth noting is the consistency. No matter when I’ve visited, the quality has been the same delicious food, wonderful service, and a welcoming environment. That reliability is rare and makes Oliver’s a place you can recommend with full confidence, knowing friends, family, or clients will be treated to the same outstanding experience. Lynchburg is lucky to have Oliver’s Restaurant it’s not just a place to eat, it’s a place to enjoy great food, great people, and great memories. Highly recommend to anyone in the area or passing through.

When I saw this restaurant was under new management I thought I would give it a try (the old Oliver’s wasn’t great). I’m so glad I did! The food and service was amazing ! I had the chicken sandwich with crab dip. Wow! So good! It came with a small salad or fries. I chose the salad and it was really good with yummy homemade salad dressings. If you came before and were not impressed, try again. You won’t be disappointed. .

I was lured in by the goldens and stayed for the food. Did not disappoint! This place is amazing!! My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. We started with the mozzarella logs — delicious. My husband got a NY sour and I got the pomegranate martini, both very good. We ordered two burgers, I got the brisket burger and my husband got the bacon jam; both were very juicy and made with high quality beef. We finished off the night with the cheesecake! Service did NOT suffer even though they were short staffed. Our water cups were always filled and everyone was very pleasant. The only things that could improve- my burger was supposed to have coleslaw and did not this time (I stole some of my husband’s so I didn’t miss out). No points deducted though (short staffed and two days before Christmas). Also, the restaurant side was a little chilly. Overall, we are sold! Thank you for a great night everyone.

This was our first time at Oliver’s and it will NOT be our last!! We went in the second day of their brunch menu and WOW. The chicken and waffles were perfectly crispy and fluffy and the Hashbrown skillet was so filling and stuffed with flavor The chefs in the kitchen know what they’re doing! Our waitress, Sabrina as well as her brother who made our amazing drinks (Eight O One Bar) were attentive, super knowledgeable and willing to make small accommodations for us to make our meal that much more enjoyable! We didn’t catch the hostesses name on the way out, but her candy cane earrings and warm personality were such a nice welcome upon entering We can’t wait to return for happy hour, everyday, lunch/dinner and karaoke!

I think this place deserves a ranking. It's got great food and a great atmosphere. The staff has always been outgoing and on point every time I have been in there. So, if you are looking for a place to get an amazing burger and fries this is it. I can't order anything else but their burgers every time I go lol... they are so delicious! I'm sure their menu is really good other than the burgers... I just don't know, lol. They also have great beers on tap to pair with their menu. I'd say give them a go and I'd give it a solid 4.6!
